The first two Don films with Shah Rukh Khan and Priyanka Chopra were box office hits

Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar intend to make a third film in their hit Don franchise. The two first remade Amitabh Bachchan’s famous action thriller of 1978 with Shah Rukh Khan and Priyanka Chopra in 2006. Their Excel Entertainment then released Don 2 in 2011. And now, it seems the filmmakers are keen to make a third film.

“We are thinking about Don (3) and we are thinking very hard on it. We have found the right idea, it’s being written now. We will make an official announcement soon,” said Ritesh to PTI.

On being asked if Farhan would direct the third film and if they would repeat the cast, Ritesh said, “Wait for the announcement.” Farhan has already lined up his next film, Lucknow-Central, in which he is acting.

Meanwhile, SRK and Priyanka are also busy with their own commitments. SRK is all geared up for the release of Imtiaz Ali’s Jab Harry Met Sejal with Anushka Sharma. And Priyanka has been shuttling between Hollywood and Bollywood, where she is reported to have signed a film with Sanjay Leela Bhansali although nothing has been confirmed yet.
